Landscapes--real and imagined
Artist Statement
My images are based on the landscape real and imagined. They are a representation, not a documentation of nature. I am more concerned with creating a strong, emotional and positive image than in recreating a specific place.
Bio
Eric Benjamin currently teaches art at Stone Academy in Greenville, SC. He also organized the Fine Arts Alliance, where teaches visual arts after school and holds summer art camps.
He earned his BFA from Clemson University then received his certification in education from Converse College. He is a National Board Certified teacher and presented at the National Art Education Association’s nation conference in 2012. He has been teaching since 1998.
His work has been exhibited in shows at the Art Bomb, Open Studios with the Metropolitan Arts Council, the Greenville County Museum of Art, the Pickens County Museum Juried Professional Show, the Anderson Art Show, Center Stage Gallery and the Artist Guild of Atlanta’s Juried Show and was awarded the Gallery Choice award at the Artist Guild Gallery of Greenville in 2012.
He has worked with many charitable organizations including Camp Greenville, the Children’s Theater, the Children’s Museum, and Chicora Voices.
